EARN A BUILT-IN HIGHER EDUCATION DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Year One of your Bachelor of Information Technology will focus on core subjects, meaning you’ll finish the first year with a Higher Education Diploma in Information Technology. In under 12 months, you’ll have a strong qualification to add to your CV as you continue to work on your degree.
With an introduction to essential IT subjects, including programming, web development and database systems, alongside a focus on project management and communication skills, the diploma will set you up for success in the rest of your studies and career. You can graduate with the diploma or continue on to complete your degree.
COURSE STRUCTURE AND SUBJECTS
To successfully graduate from the Bachelor of Information Technology, students are required to complete 288 credit points:
- 120 credit points of core units + the Higher Education Diploma in Information Technology
- 72 credit points of subjects from the Cyber Security specialisation
- 96 credit points of specialisation studies:

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
In order to qualify for VU’s undergraduate programs, you must meet the following criteria:- You must have graduated from an accredited high school with a result of at least 60%.
- Applicants are required to provide evidence of English language proficiency to be considered for admission. Applicants can prove eligibility as outlined in our admissions process.
- Evidence of having completed a minimum 2 years of academic study in the medium of English no more than 2 years prior to commencing.
- If An Applicant Has Completed Academic Study In The Medium Of English More Than 2 Years Prior To Commencing, The Applicant Must Provide Evidence Of Completing An Approved English Language Proficiency Test.
